What we can ship to Maryland

Maryland restricts which firearms and magazines may be sold here. We apply those rules to the catalog before anything is listed, and the same check runs again at checkout. Here is where the lines fall.

Listed and shipped to your Maryland dealer:

Bolt-action, lever-action, pump-action and single-shot rifles.
Rimfire rifles such as .22 LR and .17 HMR.
Pump, break-action (over/under, side-by-side, single-shot) and plain field semi-automatic shotguns.

Listed and shipped to your door:

Ammunition of all types.
Optics, mounts, slings, cases, cleaning gear and other non-serialized parts and accessories.
Magazines, only when the listing states a capacity of 10 rounds or fewer.

Not listed for Maryland:

Handguns and handgun frames, of any kind. A Maryland handgun sale requires a Handgun Qualification License (Public Safety Article § 5-117.1), a model on the state Handgun Roster, and a Maryland regulated-firearms dealer who files the State Police application and observes the seven-day wait (§ 5-123). We cannot check a roster entry or a license from a product listing, so we list none. Buy a handgun from a regulated-firearms dealer in Maryland.
AR and AK pattern rifles, stripped receivers and other banned long guns. Criminal Law Article §§ 4-301 to 4-303 prohibit selling or transferring listed assault long guns and copycat weapons. That includes semi-automatic shotguns with folding stocks and shotguns with revolving cylinders.
Magazines over 10 rounds, and magazines whose listing does not state a capacity (Criminal Law Article § 4-305).
NFA items and rate-of-fire parts. No suppressors, short-barreled rifles or shotguns, machine guns, binary or forced-reset triggers, or bump stocks, in any state.

The filter is cautious. It works from product names and categories, and when a name does not say enough the item is left out, so some lawful products will be missing. It is also not a legal ruling on any model. Your dealer makes the final decision at the counter, and you are responsible for knowing the law where you live. How a firearm gets to you

Choose a dealer. Any federally licensed (FFL) dealer in Maryland who handles transfers, whether in Baltimore, Annapolis, Frederick, Salisbury, Hagerstown or Waldorf. Call first to confirm they accept shipped long-gun transfers, and ask the fee.
Enter the dealer at checkout. Name, town and state are enough. The FFL number helps if you have it.
We confirm the license. We obtain a copy of the dealer's license before the firearm ships.
Pick up. Bring a valid government photo ID with your current address. The dealer completes ATF Form 4473 and the federal background check with you. You must be 18 or older for a rifle or shotgun.

An ordinary rifle or shotgun is not a regulated firearm under Public Safety Article § 5-101, so there is no state purchase license and no state waiting period for it. If the background check is delayed, the dealer holds the firearm until it is resolved. We never ship a firearm to a home address.

When it ships

Orders usually leave within 1 to 3 business days after payment clears and, for firearms, once we have your dealer's license. You receive tracking by email. All of Maryland, from Garrett County to the lower Eastern Shore, is served by standard ground delivery.

Items from partner warehouses

Some items ship from partner distributors and not from our main warehouse. These usually ship within 1 to 3 weeks, and we email you if yours will take longer. If we cannot ship an item within 30 days of your order, we tell you and refund it in full, or you can choose to keep waiting.

Ammunition

Maryland requires no license or permit to buy or receive ammunition, so it ships to your home address.
Federal law sets the ages: 18 for rifle and shotgun ammunition, 21 for handgun ammunition.
It travels by ground only, never by air, so it may arrive after the rest of your order. An adult signature may be required.
A person who is prohibited from possessing firearms may not possess ammunition either (Public Safety Article § 5-133.1).
For waterfowl, federal rules require non-toxic shot. Search for steel, bismuth or tungsten loads.

Magazines

Criminal Law Article § 4-305 provides that a detachable magazine holding more than 10 rounds may not be manufactured, sold, offered for sale, purchased, received or transferred in Maryland. We ship a magazine to a Maryland address only when the listing states 10 rounds or fewer. If you are unsure about a particular magazine, ask us before ordering.

If an order cannot be completed

If any item in an order cannot lawfully be shipped to your address or transferred to you, we cancel that item and refund it in full. If your dealer declines a transfer, contact us and we will arrange the return from the dealer.
